In 2014,  FSC working in partnership with the Holderness School and the State of New Hampshire embarked on an $4 million improvement project aimed at making Mittersill into a world-class alpine training and racing venue.  The project included trail widening, the installation of snowmaking to the area and the addition of the Valar T-Bar.  By the time Phase 1 of the project was completed, the site had been named an official U.S. Ski Team Training site, the first of its kind on the East Coast.

The final element of the Mittersill project is the construction of the Mittersill Performance Center.  The Center will be located at the bottom of the Taft Slalom slope and will offer a fantastic view of the Mittersill race courses.  Fundraising for the MPC has begun with the goal of breaking ground on the site in 2019.  The Center will become the new home of the Franconia Ski Club providing not only  a place to boot up, but a space that more fully meets the needs of athletes to warm-up, watch training videos, and tune skis; essential activities for optimal performance.  The building will be open to the public and is designed to be fully-accessible to all abilities.
