Race Administrator
Chet Thompson
chet@franconiaskiclub.com
Chet has been involved with organized skiing since the mid 1960s as an officer and Director of the Eastern Inter-Club Ski League of Boston.  The Inter-Club was the host organization for the 1967 World Cup and the 1969 Eastern Championships held at Cannon Mountain.  When Chet’s daughters Becky and Sarah started skiing with the Franconia Ski Club in the early 1980s it was natural to become involved as a parent volunteer, director and officer.  Chet served as Vice President under Presidents Dave Lodding and Richard MacLeod.  After the girl’s went off to college, both racing for the Plymouth State Ski Team, Chet and his wife, Sue continued to serve the Club as Alpine Officials and volunteer race workers.  When Chet retired from the printing business and moved to Franconia full time in 1998 he took on the job of Race Secretary for FSC.  As the club continued to grow, so did the responsibilities and the need for a year round administrator to assist the Head Coach became apparent.  Chet has been honored as a Lifetime Member of FSC.

Assistant Race Administrator
Tina Virgin
tina@franconiaskiclub.com
Tina joined the staff of FSC in November 2007 as race coordinator and “Chet’s unofficial little assistant.”  The need for another “organizer” became apparent as the Club grew and FSC took on bigger race events.

Tina and her family started skiing with FSC in 1979.  Son Tim and daughter Amy went through the program developing their love of the sport.  Tim came back after college and a seven year hiatus in Crested Butte to coach for FSC.  He is now on the “sub list” as he has a real job working on a tugboat in NY Harbor.   Amy coached after college too, but teaching school, marriage and raising a family has taken priority.  Amy’s husband, George, has also filled in as an FSC coach.

Tina, and her husband, Karl have been very involved in FSC since joining.  Both have served on the Board of Directors with Tina as a current member.  Karl works with Chet as part of FSC’s race engineering crew.  Because of their dedication to FSC, they became Lifetime Members, an honor they appreciate.
